CS House – Progress

Hello all,
This is one of three jobs we are currently producing for outside our country and so, since we are pretty busy and haven´t posted anything relevant lately, we decided to show some images of a series of light tests we created for an UK office recently. We can´t seem to find any better light system than this one and we´re sure we will stick to it for many years to come. In this case the HDRI used was this one here. Thanks Peter Guthrie!
Funny thing is that the client choose a more british weather instead of the present clear sky. Anyway, it looks good the same you will see soon.
We will post the final images of this nice house pretty shortly.
Stay in touch.

Hi,
Lovely set of finished images…
What was your lighting workflow? Just the HDRi? or HDRi with Vray Sun?
Using Peter Guthrie’s tutorial http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2012/02/hdri-lighting-workflow/
I can never get the shadows I want without using a sun as well.

Had a play with the HDRI over the weekend and started to get some very nice results, so thanks for the advice.
This blogs a great resource!

Hi Jacinto, just only one question, on your hdri the gamma is on 0.8 overall 0.02 and rendermultipl 50? as peters in his blog said?.. VRAYDOME set mult to 1? .. wich camera settings did you use ? thanks, great job !

Hi Metro Cubico Digital
I’m playing about with an interior scene of mine using just an HDRi to light the space, and am really struggling to control the burn-out from the sun whilst keeping the colours in the image strong.
Im using Reinhard colour mapping to try and control this, but as i decrease the value to counteract the burnt out areas, the image gets very pale and washed out.
With the colour mapping set to 0.21 (the only setting that doesnt burn out), I have the HDRi at 0.85 and the camera settings are set to shutter speed 20, F-stop 7, and ISO 100, and its very pale.
Looking at your finished interior shots for this project, there arent any burnt out areas and the lightings perfect… Is it all in the camera settings? or something eles?
Any advice would be very much appreciated
Thanks
Chris
